Joe Hobday

Hi there, I’m, married to Annette, we have four adult children and two grandchildren. Working with young people and their families is my passion and I’ve been involved in youth and children’s ministry for over 25 years.

I’ve served as a schools-worker in the West Midlands, worked in Weymouth as a church youth pastor for over 15 years and taught in a Private school in Dubai.

All of this has involved, engaging with young people, training and leading teams, running a wide-range of youth projects, leading youth worship, discipleship and mission programmes, residentials, mentoring, teaching, small groups, specialist work around drugs and alcohol support, regular engagement with primary and secondary schools and college chaplaincy work.

We love Weymouth and I’m so thankful to be back here working with the Parish on this really exciting youth and community project.

I’m married to Tom and we have lived in Weymouth since 2016 with our 4 children. I love working with children and their families and we are committed to making St John’s Church friendly and welcoming to all. We run a range of groups and projects for children and families both in church and local schools. In my spare time I love walking by the sea and playing netball, but also watching rubbish TV in my pjs, preferably with a big bar of Cadburys!!
